Position Description:
Transatlantic Reinsurance
Company, a leading international reinsurance organization, is currently seeking
a Reinsurance Accounting Team Leader for its Accounting department, in its New
York location.
Team Leader position responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain complete ownership
of assigned broker and direct accounts, providing leadership and managerial
support to one reinsurance analys
- Develop necessary workflow
to insure treaty accounts are booked in an accurate and timely fashion
- Interface with underwriting,
claims, actuarial and senior management on matters related to assigned accounts
- Respond to inquiries
from internal and external auditors
- Institute necessary controls
to insure the accuracy of incoming and outgoing cash settlements and application
in reinsurance system (TIRS)
- Maintain ITD treaty coding
input sheets for all QS treaties by underwriting years
- Provide quarterly and
yearly closing exhibits, as well as complete adhoc projects and analysis
Position Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's
degree and previous experience in either the reinsurance/insurance industry
- Candidate must possess
strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of GAAP and
Statutory accounting principles and practices
- Candidate must possess
excellent P.C. skills, including Excel and other MS office software
- Supervisory skills a
plus
